Why We've Temporarily Paused EU Shipping 🇪🇺

Why We've Temporarily Paused EU Shipping 🇪🇺

As a small, handcrafted business serving customers worldwide, we need to share important changes affecting our EU shipping services. Starting December 12th, 2024, we've temporarily suspended shipments to EU countries and Northern Ireland. Here's what you need to know.

The New Regulation 📋

The European Union has introduced the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), effective December 13th, 2024. While this regulation aims to enhance consumer safety, it presents significant challenges for small artisan businesses like ours.

Why This Affects Us 💼

The GPSR requires all businesses selling to the EU to have an EU Representative - costing approximately £1,500 per year for just 20 products. As a handmade business creating bespoke items, this additional cost would significantly impact our pricing structure.

Our Current Position ✨

  • Our products have always met and exceeded safety standards
  • Each item continues to be meticulously crafted in the UK
  • This pause isn't about product quality - it's about regulatory compliance
  • We're actively exploring solutions, including potential EU partnerships

What This Means For You 🔍

EU and Northern Ireland Customers:

  • We've temporarily suspended shipping to these regions
  • We're working hard to find alternative solutions
  • Sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on developments

Rest of World:

  • No changes for UK mainland customers
  • International shipping continues as normal to non-EU countries
  • Our commitment to quality and service remains unchanged

Moving Forward 🔮

While we can't provide an exact timeline for resuming EU shipments, we're actively exploring several options to return to serving our European customers. We value our EU customer base and understand this news may be disappointing.
